A Choice: Poverty or Prosperity
" I hate poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that (poverty). It depends upon how hard I want to work, and i decided that i would change it."- Dr Ben Carson
What this means is that you have to make a choice and make your self be successful at life because no one will do it for you you will have to live your life.For example in Dr Ben's life when he was small he was a nobody he thought he was cool because he behaved bad. He watched TV all day long. His mother was a house keep she didn't rely on food stamps( government money) so she worked hard. Dr Ben was typically raised by his mother who didn't go to school but her grade level was a third grader that's how far she went and he was also raised by his brother but its n/a about him.His father and mother are divorced. Until one day Dr Ben's mother was cleaning a persons how and she saw they didn't watch TV. They did something better they read and studied hard. Ms Carson then came home later that day and turned of the TV and told Ben to read and you know how all kids are reading is boring but he had to listen so he read. Ben said he used to think that being smart was cool too because he used to ask him self how do the other kids know the answer to the test and he also said the more he read the more he knew a lot of things that other people didn't know. Ben thought it was cool to know new things. Know Ben is a heart surgeon and he ruined for president . He said no one believed in him except his mother. Ben said in order to be successful you have to be reading and putting your time and detection into things
